Optional: Basic PIP includes three separate options: A) Medical and Hospital Benefits Coverage, B) Work Loss Coverage and C) Accidental Death Benefits Coverage.
You may choose any, all or none of the coverage. Each portion of PIP will need to be selected separately.
Also known as No-Fault, this coverage applies to you, your family, and any passengers covered under your policy, regardless of who is responsible for the accident. Basic PIP will pay the following benefits, up to the limits of your policy, for losses or expenses incurred because of injuries sustained by an insured person as a result of an auto accident:
- Medical, Hospital and Funeral Benefits
- Covers reasonable and necessary expenses due to bodily injury sustained by an insured person and incurred within two years from the date of an accident.
- Includes coverage for medical, hospital, nursing, dental, surgical, ambulance, funeral expenses and prosthetic services, up to an aggregate level of $5,000.
- Work Loss Coverage
- Provides coverage for work loss due to bodily injury sustained by an insured person caused by an accident arising out of the ownership, maintenance or use of a motor vehicle.
- Provides up to 70% of weekly gross income not to exceed $140 per week if the insured person is employed at the time of the accident or up to $70 per week if the insured person is not employed at the time of the accident.
- Accidental Death Benefits Coverage
Covers death benefits, if an insured person dies within one year from the date of an accident because of bodily injury caused by the accident and arising out of the ownership, maintenance or use of a motor vehicle, up to an aggregate level of $5,000. |
