Personal Injury Protection Mandatory:

This coverage is mandatory in the state of Oregon.  PIP coverage applies to you, your family, and any passengers covered under your policy, regardless of who is responsible for the accident.  PIP will pay the following benefits, up to the limits of your policy, for losses or expenses incurred because of injuries sustained by an insured person as a result of an auto accident:

●        Medical Benefits- Up to $15,000 for reasonable and necessary expenses for hospital, dental, surgical, ambulance and prosthetic services incurred within one year of the accident.

●        Lost of Earnings Benefits- 70% of the insured’s loss of work income up to a maximum of $1,250 per month for a maximum of 52 weeks.

●        Essential Services- Up to $30 per day for a maximum of 52 weeks for services the insured must buy due to his/her disability following the accident.  Begins on the 14th day of disability.

●        Child Care Benefits- Up to $15 per day up to an aggregate maximum of $450 for childcare expenses incurred for care of a minor child of an injured person.

●        Funeral Expenses- Up to $2,500 for reasonable and necessary funeral expenses.

These benefits are subject to a combined total limit of $15,000.  When two or more automobiles are insured under a single policy, the same combination of limits and the same option elections shall apply to all such automobiles.
