This coverage is optional in the state of Texas. Regardless of who is at fault, PIP covers bodily injury to covered persons caused by an accident involving an insured private passenger motor vehicle, up to your policy limits. PIP also covers bodily injury resulting from an accident involving a motor vehicle to: ● You while in another person’s vehicle. ● You as a pedestrian or bicyclist. ● Your relatives living in your home. ● Certain passengers who do not have PIP/ ● Certain licensed drivers who drive your vehicle with your permission PIP Covers: ● Medical Expenses- up to $10,000 ● Work Loss- 80% of lost income ● Funeral Expenses ● Essential Services- the cost of hiring someone to take over the household and caregiver responsibilities of the injured person. The minimum PIP offered is $2,500. You may reject the coverage in writing or opt for increased limits. Payment will only be made for losses or expenses incurred within three (3) years from the date of the accident. |

This coverage is optional, and is available when you reject PIP. This coverage protects anyone occupying your vehicle at the time of an accident and you and relatives who live with you, while in other vehicles or if struck as a pedestrian. This coverage pays for certain medical and funeral expenses from a motor vehicle accident, regardless of fault. |
