Basic PIP is optional in Washington. PIP coverage applies to you, your family, and any passengers covered under your policy, regardless of who is responsible for the accident. PIP will pay the following benefits, up to the limits of your policy, for losses or expenses incurred because of injuries sustained by an insured person as a result of an auto accident: ● Medical Benefits- Up to $10,000 for one insured person ● Income Continuation Benefits- Up to $10,000 for one insured person who is employed at the time of the accident, up to a limit of $200 per week and not exceeding 85% of the insured person’s weekly income at the time of the accident. Begins 14 days after the accident and continue for up to 52 weeks. ● Funeral Expenses- Up to $2,000 payment for reasonable expenses ● Loss of Service Benefits- Up to $5,000 for services that you would have performed without income if you had not been injured in the accident but are now making payments to persons other than members of your household to perform. Loss of services benefits are subject to a limit of $40 per day, not to exceed $200 per week. Begin on date of the accident and continue for up to 52 weeks. |
